- Our community offers buildings that feature protected inland locations, high security, carrier grade facilities, multiple fiber providers, diesel back-up generators and new 4,000-AMP dual-feed electrical service.
- Downtown Lakeland has gone wireless: The city has recently installed a free wireless Internet service system for its downtown cafes, shops and common areas offering workers equipped with a wireless device easy access to their e-mail and the Web. Wireless has also been installed at The Lakeland Center, central Florida’s entertainment, sports and convention complex.
- Technology Research Consultants, Inc., headquartered in Haines City, provides the Department of Defense with critically required Modernization, Technology Insertion and Obsolescence Mitigation solutions. TRC has engineered, qualified and produced multiple Blackhawk, Chinook and Kiowa Avionic subsystems. TRC recently donated $50,000 to the University of South Florida to seed research into opportunities for manufacturing specialized equipment for the Department of Defense.
- The Central Florida Development Council, in association with the University of Central Florida, University of South Florida, University of Florida and the Florida High Tech Corridor Council, is spearheading efforts to assist companies in obtaining specialized Department of Defense contracts.
