Duke Energy

Duke Energy Corporation is a regulated utility with total operations serving 7.2 million customers across six states. In Polk County, Duke Energy serves more than 92,000 customers and operates 5 natural gas fired power plants just outside of Bartow at the Hines Energy Complex. Duke Energy’s Economic Development team continues to be recognized by Site Selection magazine on its annual list of Top Utilities in Economic Development. Lakeland Electric

Lakeland Electric is a full service municipal utility servicing over 120,000 customers. The third largest publicly owned utility in Florida, Lakeland Electric was one of the first to offer power in the Sunshine State more than 110 years ago. For information on current rates, please click here.

TECO

TECO consists of four core businesses, two of which serve Florida. Tampa Electric is a regulated utility that serves nearly 700,000 customers across the region. TECO’s natural gas division, People’s Gas, has more than 100 years of experience bringing cost-effective natural gas service to Central Florida. Florida Power and Light

Serving approximately 4.7 million customers across nearly half the state, Florida Power and Light (FPL) is the third-largest electric utility in the United States. For industry-specific information on the services that FPL can provide your business, please click here.

Currently, FPL is working on a high volume natural gas pipeline project that will deliver clean, affordable energy to five counties in Central Florida, including Polk. The 127-mile pipeline is expected to enter service in 2017 and represents a $3.6 billion private investment in Florida’s infrastructure.

Florida Public Utilities

Florida Public Utilities provides natural gas, electricity and propane gas service to approximately 118,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers throughout Florida.  FPU’s corporate headquarters are located in Winter Haven with another office in Fort Meade, and have been servicing the state for over 90 years.  To learn about Florida Public Utilities Natural Gas Economic Development Program, click here.

Southwest Florida Water Management District

The Southwest Florida Water Management District covers roughly 10,000 square miles throughout 16 counties in Florida and serves 4.7 million people. In addition to issuing water use permits, the District is also responsible for improving water quality and overseeing flood protection through both structural and nonstructural methods.
