United Way of Central Florida (UWCF) is a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the communities of Polk, Hardee, and Highlands counties in Florida by mobilizing resources and partnerships to tackle critical issues. Through seven focused initiatives—Early Childhood Education, Academic Achievement, Financial Stability, Health, Community Partnership Schools, Basic Needs, and ending hunger via the George W. Jenkins program—UWCF disrupts the cycle of poverty by investing in services that yield strong returns.
Since 1980, UWCF has amplified donor dollars through local matching, collaborated across sectors, and brokered services to maximize impact. Their mission is to inspire the community to give, advocate, and volunteer by identifying local needs and mobilizing vetted resources. With a commitment to measurable impact, UWCF tracks outcomes such as thousands of children in early education and tens of thousands receiving health or financial services each year.
