The City of Polk City had humble beginnings when Mr. Isaac Van Horn traveled through the town in 1922. Through his hard work and dedication, the town became bustling by 1925. It found a decline until 1960 but regained its former glory in the years after; then, in 2005 the town was changed by ordinance to the City of Polk City. It continues to remain a humble town but continues to experience expansion and growth in the housing, commercial, and industrial markets.
